INDONESIA TARGETS 8 PERCENT ECONOMIC GROWTH BY 2029, BOOSTS EXPORT PROGRAMS
The Indonesian government is pivoting toward an export-led strategy to achieve a 8% economic growth target by 2029, moving away from a traditional reliance on domestic consumption. Central to this effort is the Special Export Assignment (PKE) program managed by Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI), which provides critical support to industries entering competitive global markets. Backed by IDR 13.7 trillion in state capital, the program has already disbursed IDR 13 trillion to 270 exporters across 90 countries, successfully generating over IDR 37 trillion in foreign exchange and proving that every invested rupiah can yield triple the economic benefit. The PKE framework is structured into six thematic programs and three project-based initiatives designed to diversify Indonesia's trade footprint. These include expanding into non-traditional markets like the Middle East and Eastern Europe, as well as providing specialized financing and insurance for strategic sectors such as transportation, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. Additionally, the government is prioritizing high-value projects in the aviation industry and the development of the Mandalika Special Economic Zone, signaling a comprehensive push to bolster national competitiveness while maintaining a positive trade balance through 2029.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2346859/indonesia-targets-8-percent-economic-growth-by-2029-boosts-export-programs (ICE GIACARTA)
