INDONESIA'S PALU SEZ SECURES US$20 MILLION LNG INVESTMENT

The Palu Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has secured a US$20 million (IDR342.8 billion) investment from PT Lingkar Nusantara Gas (LNG) to develop critical gas infrastructure. Formalized through an MoU with the region-owned enterprise PT Bangun Palu Sulawesi Tengah (BPST), the project focuses on building an LNG regasification facility and an internal pipeline network. Pipeline construction is slated to begin in 2026 with a completion target of 2027, while a larger receiving terminal is planned for phased expansion after 2028.To ensure a stable and reliable energy supply for industrial tenants, the project will initially source 10 MMSCFD of gas from the CIMC project in Morowali, supported by a backup supply from a new facility in Java expected to be operational by late 2026. Beyond the SEZ, the company plans to utilize a virtual pipeline system to extend gas distribution to the wider region. Palu City Head Hadianto Rasyid emphasized that this investment serves as a vital catalyst for local industrial growth, signaling a strong and competitive business climate for future international investors.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/412872/indonesias-palu-sez-secures-us20-million-lng-investment?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=desktop&utm_campaign=top_news (ICE GIACARTA)
