FOOD BUSINESS STARTUP ENABLER PROGRAMME 2.0

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries organised the Food Business Startup Enabler Programme 2.0 at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Thanjavur, on April 16-17, 2026. The initiative was aimed at strengthening entrepreneurial capabilities and providing structured guidance to aspiring food entrepreneurs, students and early-stage start-up founders. The programme focused on enhancing knowledge and building capabilities required to launch, manage and scale food enterprises in a competitive and innovation-driven market environment. It also created awareness about institutional support systems, regulatory frameworks and financial assistance available for food start-ups in India.A total of 82 participants from across the country attended the programme, representing aspiring entrepreneurs and individuals interested in the food processing sector. The sessions were delivered by industry experts and covered key areas such as packaging technologies, corporate laws, governance, taxation, branding, marketing strategies and export opportunities. Participants were also introduced to incubation facilities, supply chain management, inventory control, food processing technologies and machinery selection. Additionally, emphasis was placed on digital marketing, e-commerce, customer engagement, product development, food safety regulations and quality assurance systems.
