INDONESIA SEEKS EU-LINKED FARM COOPERATION WITH POLAND
Indonesia and Poland are exploring closer agricultural cooperation to strengthen food security and boost productivity amid global challenges such as conflicts and supply‑chain disruptions. During a meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia’s Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono said the country remains open to international partnerships in trade, investment, and technology, including opportunities linked to a potential EU free trade agreement. He emphasized that cooperation should be concrete, focusing on expanded market access, simplified technical procedures, and stronger investment and research collaboration to ensure sustainable agricultural development. Both countries discussed trade prospects for strategic commodities, with Poland seeking to export beef, dairy, wheat, and berries, while Indonesia stressed strict compliance with health standards, veterinary certification, and audits. Indonesia also maintained caution on sensitive products like poultry due to biosecurity and domestic protection concerns. The two sides agreed to form a technical working group to speed up trade protocols, expand business and investment engagement, and consider a memorandum of understanding. Poland highlighted Indonesia’s importance as an Asian partner, while positioning itself as a gateway to the European market, aiming for balanced and mutually beneficial cooperation to address global food challenges.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/413103/indonesia-seeks-eu-linked-farm-cooperation-with-poland (ICE GIACARTA)
