INDONESIA: TEXTILE FACTORY WORTH IDR1 TRILLION BUILT IN SUBANG

Three integrated textile companies—PT Binkova Textiles Indonesia, PT Dafei Textile Indonesia, and PT Serendipity Fashion Indonesia—have begun constructing a US$60 million vertical manufacturing facility in Subang Smartpolitan, West Java. The project, marked by a groundbreaking ceremony on April 23, 2026, aims to build a fully integrated textile ecosystem covering dyeing, finishing, weaving, knitting, and garment production. This investment, tied to the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA), is expected to absorb 3,000–3,800 workers and strengthen Indonesia’s role in the global supply chain, particularly in meeting demand from H&M. The facility will incorporate modern manufacturing technology to ensure efficiency, traceability, and compliance with international sustainability standards. The Subang Smartpolitan location was chosen for its strategic connectivity to the Cipali Toll Road and Patimban Port, supporting logistics efficiency for export-oriented industries. Beyond direct employment, the project is expected to generate additional jobs in supporting sectors such as logistics, catering, and laundry services. Officials from the Investment Coordinating Board of Indonesia (BKPM) and H&M emphasized that the integrated production model enhances competitiveness, cost efficiency, and sustainability compliance, while also contributing to Indonesia’s national economic growth target of 8% by 2029. With completion targeted by the end of 2026, the facility is positioned to boost Indonesia’s textile industry as a hub for export-based manufacturing and elevate its standing in the global fashion supply chain.Source: https://ekonomi.bisnis.com/read/20260424/257/1969138/pabrik-tekstil-senilai-rp1-triliun-dibangun-di-subang-potensi-serap-3000-pekerja (ICE GIACARTA)
