Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, met with Head of the Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs, Qutaiba Badawi, to discuss ways to facilitate trade between the two countries, with the aim of enhancing import and export flows and supporting joint economic activity. The meeting, held at the Authority’s headquarters in Damascus and attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to Syria, Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, focused on mechanisms to ease the entry of goods in both directions, with the goal of achieving a more balanced trade relationship and advancing mutual interests. Discussions also covered the current customs tariff structure and ways to streamline it to simplify procedures and reduce costs. In addition, both sides explored unifying certain technical and administrative processes to facilitate the movement of goods through border crossings. (ICE AMMAN)
