UKRAINE: STRONG GROWTH IN OLIVE OIL IMPORTS FROM ITALY IN EARLY 2026
In January–March 2026, Ukraine’s imports of olive oil reached €3.74 million, reflecting a solid 16.53% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Italy further strengthened its position as the leading supplier, with exports rising to €1.55 million, up 21.22% year-on-year. As a result, Italy’s market share expanded to 41.56%, reinforcing its dominance in the Ukrainian olive oil market.Spain remained the second-largest supplier, posting a 9.93% increase to €1.09 million, though its market share declined slightly to 29.14%. Greece continued to lose ground, with imports falling by 17.56% to €641,361, reducing its share to 17.15%.Poland emerged as a dynamic challenger, with exports surging to €406,944, representing a 225.62% increase compared to January–March 2025. Poland captured 10.88% of total Ukrainian olive oil imports, significantly reshaping the competitive landscape.Overall, Ukraine’s olive oil import market in early 2026 shows strong expansion and structural change, with Italy consolidating its leadership, Spain maintaining volume growth despite a smaller share, and Poland’s rapid rise adding a new competitive dimension.
