INDONESIA TO LAUNCH 2026 TOURISM SAFETY PROGRAM TO BOLSTER STANDARDS
The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism will launch the 2026 Tourism Safety Program to strengthen safety standards across destinations. Deputy or Resources and Institutional Affairs, Martini Mohamad Paham, emphasized that tourism is shifting from focusing solely on beautiful places to ensuring safe, authentic, and memorable experiences. The program aims to enhance human resource skills in risk mitigation and emergency response, while standardizing safety procedures to boost Indonesia’s global competitiveness. Collaboration with provincial tourism offices is considered crucial, as tourism safety is seen as a collective responsibility. The initiative also integrates occupational health, safety, and environmental sustainability principles into training, fostering professionalism and improving Indonesia’s image as a safe, high-quality destination. Assistant Deputy Ika Kusuma Permana Sari highlighted the importance of regional preparedness, while the ministry will oversee technical and administrative implementation to ensure tangible benefits. By strengthening human resource capacity and cross-sector collaboration, the program is expected to lay a strong foundation for a competitive and sustainable tourism industry that prioritizes visitor security.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/414357/indonesia-to-launch-2026-tourism-safety-program-to-bolster-standards (ICE GIACARTA)
