INDONESIA SHRIMP EXPORTS TO US SURGE DESPITE CONTAMINATION CASE
Acting Secretary General of the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Ministry (KKP), Andy Artha Donny Oktopura, said in Jakarta on Monday (27/4) Indonesia’s shrimp exports have reached over 3,400 containers worth IDR 11 trillion (EUR 542.5 million) despite previously being affected by a cesium-137 contamination case. He explained that this achievement was driven by KKP’s efforts to strengthen its robust quality assurance system, which covers production, processing, and distribution stages to ensure compliance with domestic and international food safety standards. With Indonesia’s fisheries production amounting to 26 million tonnes per year, the ministry ensures compliance with strict quality control and traceability methods, which have gained international recognition, including from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/413813/indonesia-shrimp-exports-to-us-surge-despite-contamination-case (ICE GIACARTA)
