UKRAINE IS INCREASING ITS FOREIGN EXCHANGE EARNINGS FROM AGRICULTURAL EXPORTS THROUGH PROCESSING

According to the Ministry of Economy, in the first quarter of 2026 Ukraine exported 15.5 million tons of agricultural products worth $6.3B. The agricultural sector accounted for 62% of total exports, underscoring its key role in generating the state’s foreign exchange earnings. The main trend was higher export values with nearly unchanged physical volumes. On an annual basis, shipments rose by only 1.2%, while export earnings increased by 8.3% ($482M). “We see a clear trend: Ukraine is gradually moving away from the raw material export model and is increasing the supply of processed products,” the ministry emphasized.EU countries purchased 49% of Ukraine’s agricultural products, the countries of the Middle East and North Africa – 20%, and Turkey – 12%. Other markets accounted for 18% of exports. The supply structure remains concentrated: the five most popular product categories account for 68% of revenue, and the top ten – 81%.Among the leading export product categories are corn, sunflower oil, and wheat. The transformation of oilseed exports is particularly noteworthy. Thanks to state incentives, the export of raw materials is decreasing, giving way to processed products.https://me.gov.ua/News/Detail/89afc356-3fba-4bee-99a6-178870bf5229?lang=uk-UA&title=UkrainaZbilshuValiutnuViruchkuVidAgroeksportuZavdiakiPererobtsiPidsumkiIKvartalu2026-Rokuhttps://ubn.news/ukraine-is-increasing-its-foreign-exchange-earnings-from-agricultural-exports-through-processing/ (ICE KIEV)
