MINISTRY OPTIMISTIC COSMETICS AND PERFUMES WILL PILLAR INDUSTRIAL GROWTH

The Ministry of Industry is optimistic that the cosmetics, perfume, and wellness industry will become a pillar of strengthening the national economy, along with soaring domestic market demand and strengthening export performance. Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, stated that this sector is dominated by more than 1,500 business units, 90 percent of which are Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). With a large working-age population, the government is committed to strengthening the industrial ecosystem through supportive policies and guidance to ensure local products are globally competitive. The Director General of IKMA, Reni Yanita, added that the value of the Indonesian cosmetics market has reached 9.74 billion US dollars in 2025 with a stable growth trend. The increase in export value from 416.8 thousand US dollars to 473.8 thousand US dollars demonstrates the attractiveness of national products abroad. The Ministry of Industry emphasized the importance of modern manufacturing facilities and high safety standards, such as those implemented in Tangerang, to ensure that SMEs are able to deliver quality innovations that can position Indonesia as a major player in the global market.
