CROATIA: PANTHEON PROJECT WORTH EUR 50 BILLION UNVEILED AS LARGEST INVESTMENT in Croatia’s History

The Pantheon Project, worth over EUR 50 billion and backed by American and Croatian investors in partnership with Koncar Group, a Croatian electrical engineering company, was presented on Tuesday at the Three Seas Initiative (3SI) business forum in Dubrovnik as the largest investment in Croatia’s history and one of the largest in Europe, Croatian media report. The project will establish an artificial intelligence (AI) development and innovation center in Topusko, a small municipality in central Croatia, starting in 2027, positioning Croatia among leading AI countries while creating thousands of jobs and strengthening infrastructure and renewable energy capacity.Koncar Group will build key energy infrastructure and supply equipment for the project, with a letter of intent confirming plans for multiple contracts, HRT reports. The project will strengthen Croatia’s energy system, improve stability and security, and accelerate the shift toward renewable energy in line with the European Union (EU).Pantheon Project includes a 1 GW Tier 4 data center, new energy and transport infrastructure, and renewable capacity expansion, aiming to boost energy security, lower electricity costs, and create over 3,000 construction jobs and 1,500 permanent jobs, with construction starting in 2027 and operations in 2029.
