STARLINK TO LAUNCH IN LEBANON IN MAY WITH BUSINESS-ONLY ROLLOUT

Starlink is set to officially launch in Lebanon in mid-May 2026, following a lengthy regulatory process, with the satellite internet service initially available only to businesses.  Under the agreement, the company will pay a fixed annual fee and share 25% of subscriber revenues with the state. The license is non-exclusive, allowing other providers to enter the market, while restricting certain services such as infrastructure and wholesale connectivity.  The rollout aims to provide reliable high-speed internet independent of Lebanon’s existing infrastructure, particularly benefiting businesses affected by outages and connectivity issues. While coverage will remain limited relative to national demand, the service is expected to support digital operations and improve business continuity. (ICE BEIRUT)
