RUSSIA REAFFIRMS ENERGY COMMITMENTS TO INDONESIA DESPITE EU SANCTIONS
Russian Ambassador, Sergei Tolchenov, has reaffirmed Moscow's commitment to supplying oil and gas to Indonesia, designating the nation as a strategic partner despite the latest European Union sanctions package targeting Russia's energy infrastructure. While the EU recently blacklisted several entities and terminals, including Indonesia's Karimun Oil Terminal, for alleged sanction evasion, Indonesian officials have emphasized national energy security as a top priority. In line with this, Energy Minister Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed plans to proceed with importing roughly 150 million barrels of crude oil by the end of 2026 to ensure domestic supply resilience amid ongoing global geopolitical tensions.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/international/2389485/russia-reaffirms-energy-commitments-to-indonesia-despite-eu-sanctions (ICE GIACARTA)
