JORDAN SIGNS FIRST $1 BILLION GREEN AMMONIA INVESTMENT AGREEMENT
Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan on Sunday witnessed the signing of Jordan’s first investment agreement for green ammonia production, valued at $1 billion. The agreement was signed between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Jordan Green Ammonia Company, a Polish-Emirati consortium supported by Dutch technical expertise. The agreement marks the Kingdom’s first major investment in the green hydrogen and ammonia sector, reflecting Jordan’s commitment to expanding clean energy projects and advancing environmental sustainability goals. The agreement was signed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh and Jordan Green Ammonia Company CEO Wael Suleiman. Kharabsheh said the agreement represents a major milestone in Jordan’s energy transition and highlights the Kingdom’s ability to attract high-quality investments in green hydrogen and low-carbon fuels. He noted that Jordan’s advanced regulatory framework and developed infrastructure — particularly in Aqaba — have strengthened its position as a regional hub for clean energy investment. (ICE AMMAN)
