UKRAINE: CONTINUED GROWTH IN CHOCOLATE AND COCOA FOOD IMPORTS FROM ITALY IN EARLY 2026

Ukraine’s imports of chocolate and cocoa products from Italy remained resilient in the first quarter of 2026, totaling €3.39 million in January–March 2026. While this represents a moderate decline of 8.84% compared to the same period in 2025, Italy retained its position among Ukraine’s key suppliers, holding a 6.50% market share.Overall, Ukraine imported €52.17 million worth of chocolate and cocoa products from all countries between January and March 2026, marking a 4.7% increase year-on-year. Poland strengthened its leadership, supplying €21.42 million and capturing a dominant 41.06% market share, followed by Germany with €6.34 million (12.15%). The Netherlands ranked third with €3.96 million (7.59%), while Belgium supplied €3.38 million (6.48%).Despite increased competition and shifting supplier dynamics, Italy’s continued presence among the top exporters reflects sustained demand for Italian chocolate and cocoa-based products, supported by brand recognition and consumer preference for premium European confectionery.
