INDONESIA BUILDS FRAGRANCE HUB TO BOOST ESSENTIAL OIL INDUSTRY

Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry is strengthening the downstream development of national essential oils through the establishment of the Flavor and Fragrance Center (PFF) in Bali, which serves as a hub for innovation, training, and product business incubation. The initiative aims to convert raw essential oil commodities into high value-added products such as perfumes, aromatherapy items, spa products, cosmetics, and natural household goods. Leveraging Indonesia’s rich biodiversity and Bali’s strong tourism, spa, and wellness sectors, the PFF is positioned to capture growing market demand driven by healthy lifestyle trends and increased interest in natural-based fragrance and wellness products. Since its launch, the PFF has implemented various capacity-building and training programs, including certified spa oil blending for Indonesian migrant workers, non-certified aromatherapy and perfume blending courses, and curriculum development for the flavor and fragrance industry. Looking ahead to 2026, the PFF plans to expand practice-based training in collaboration with educational institutions and industry partners, covering activities such as perfume blending, aromatherapy soap and candle making, incense production, and recycling used cooking oil into soap. These initiatives are designed to enhance workforce skills, support the creative economy, and further diversify and strengthen Indonesia’s essential oil downstream industry.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/415301/indonesia-builds-fragrance-hub-to-boost-essential-oil-industry?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=desktop&utm_campaign=top_news (ICE GIACARTA)
