IRAQI OIL MINISTRY: NEW EXPORT ROUTES TO INCLUDE JORDAN AND SYRIA

The Iraqi Oil Ministry announced that work is continuing on the strategic Basra-Haditha pipeline project to diversify oil export routes and reduce reliance on southern outlets. In a statement, the ministry said recent regional developments, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and rising military tensions, have highlighted the risks of depending solely on southern export terminals. The ministry added that the pipeline project includes future extensions to Jordan’s Port of Aqaba and Syria’s Port of Banias, giving Iraq access to global markets through multiple export routes.
