Kazakhstan grain exports rise 13% amid strong demand from Central Asia, AfghanistanKazakhstan has exported 11.1 million tonnes of grain since the start of the 2025-2026 agricultural year in September, a 13% increase from the same period a year earlier, the Agriculture Ministry said Wednesday.Exports to Uzbekistan, the largest destination for Kazakh grain, rose 13.4% to 9.3 million tonnes. Shipments to Kyrgyzstan more than doubled to 440,000 tonnes, while exports to Afghanistan jumped 50% to 1.8 million tonnes. Deliveries to Turkmenistan increased 50% to 183,000 tonnes.The ministry has set an export target of 13 million tonnes of new-harvest grain for the current agricultural year, which runs through August 2026.Kazakhstan's 2025 grain harvest rose 2% to 27 million tonnes, with average yields of 1.7 metric tonnes per hectare, compared with 26.5 million tonnes and 1.6 tonnes per hectare in 2024.
