TARTOUS PORT RECEIVES 298 SHIPS IN Q1 TRADE SURGE
The port of Tartous received 298 ships during the first quarter of this year, including 266 cargo ships and 32 maintenance vessels, with trade volume surging to 2.75 million tons, including 2.25 million tons imported and 500,000 tons of phosphate exported, plus 20,000 tons of other goods. April alone saw 100 ships (94 cargo, 6 maintenance) handling 720,000 tons imported and 190,000 tons exported, marking peak commercial activity. The General Authority for Ports and Customs credits streamlined procedures, transit activation, and logistics upgrades for attracting shipping lines and boosting efficiency. (ICE BEIRUT)
