INDONESIA GRANTS ZERO IMPORT TARIFFS FOR EXPORT E-COMMERCE

Ministry of Trade Director General of National Export Development Fajarini Puntodewi said on Monday (11/5) that export-orientated e-commerce merchants could benefit from zero import tariffs in partner countries under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed with Japan, Canada, Australia, South Korea, Peru, and Chile, while a similar agreement with the European Union is still being ratified. This agreement allows Indonesian products to enter partner countries with zero import tariffs and without additional excise duties. She also added that Indonesia’s rapid-growing e-commerce sector could be more competitive globally, especially compared to Chinese products that are still subject to import duties in some markets.Source: https://en.tempo.co/read/2103089/indonesia-grants-zero-import-tariffs-for-export-e-commerce (ICE GIACARTA)
