Kazakhstan could boost exports to Turkey by $630 millionKazakhstan could increase exports to Turkey by more than $630 million across 34 product categories, the Kazakh president's press office said Thursday.President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held the sixth meeting of their High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, the press office said.Tokayev said Kazakhstan can immediately boost exports to Turkey by more than $630 million in those 34 categories.Bilateral trade grew 8.8% in 2025, exceeding $5.4 billion.Tokayev stressed the need to create favorable conditions to expand trade and further diversify the goods exchanged. He expressed confidence that partnerships between the two countries' financial centers and digital trade platforms, along with outcomes from the Kazakh-Turkish business forum underway in Astana, will help deepen trade and economic ties.Erdogan said Turkish-Kazakh relations are strengthening across all areas under their expanded strategic partnership."We exchanged views on many issues from trade to cooperation in energy, defense, transportation and logistics," Erdogan said. "We also discussed the global agenda. We reaffirmed our intention to raise bilateral trade to $15 billion."Reaching that target requires implementing a 67-point action plan adopted April 15 at the 14th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Astana."We will continue supporting companies in their investment efforts," Erdogan said. "I believe events like today's business forum, which brings together the business communities of both countries, are very important for deepening our trade and economic ties." (ICE ALMATY)
