UKRAINE’S CHOCOLATE AND COCOA IMPORTS CONTINUE TO EXPAND IN EARLY 2026
Ukraine’s imports of chocolate and cocoa products continued to grow in the first four months of 2026, reflecting resilient consumer demand and steady recovery in the confectionery sector. Between January and April 2026, total imports reached €66.56 million, marking a 6.52% increase compared to the same period of 2025.Poland further strengthened its position as Ukraine’s leading supplier, exporting €26.44 million worth of chocolate and cocoa products and accounting for 39.72% of total imports. Germany ranked second with €7.90 million (11.87%), followed by the Netherlands with €5.66 million (8.51%). Belgium supplied €4.31 million, corresponding to a 6.47% market share.Against this generally positive import trend, imports from Italy recorded a slight decline. In January–April 2026, Ukraine imported €4.17 million worth of Italian chocolate and cocoa products, down 3.12% year-on-year. Nevertheless, Italy maintained a solid position among Ukraine’s top suppliers, holding a 6.27% share of total imports.Despite increasing competition among European exporters, Italian products continue to benefit from strong brand recognition and stable consumer demand in the premium confectionery segment of the Ukrainian market.
