Mellitah Oil and Gas Company announced the completion of its second complex heavy-lift operation, involving the lifting and installation of units for Al-Bouri Gas Utilization Project on Platform No. 4 at the offshore field, with a total weight exceeding 5,200 tons.The company said the step follows its successful installation last October of the gas compressor system on the offshore Sabratha platform.It explained that the new units are aimed at utilizing the full gas production capacity from the two Bouri field platforms, estimated at 120 million cubic feet per day.The move also supports the National Oil Corporation's environmental strategy to completely eliminate gas flaring and achieve “zero flaring” by 2030.The company added that technical teams have begun connection and modification works between the new units and existing systems in line with the highest safety standards, noting that it will use the planned one-month operational shutdown of the two platforms to carry out comprehensive maintenance and upgrade control systems to match the new expansions.
