EUROPEAN COMMISSION FORECASTS 3.0% GROWTH FOR LITHUANIA IN 2026

According to the European Commission’s Spring 2026 Economic Forecast, Lithuania’s real GDP is expected to grow by 3.0% in 2026 and 2.1% in 2027. The forecast points to continued economic expansion, supported mainly by private consumption, rising real wages and increased public investment.The Commission also projects investment growth of 5.8% in 2026 and 4.5% in 2027, supported by lower interest rates and stronger public investment. At the same time, export growth is expected to weaken due to lower demand from Lithuania’s main trading partners.Imports are expected to continue outpacing exports in 2026, driven by strong domestic demand for imported goods. This trend may be relevant for foreign suppliers monitoring opportunities in the Lithuanian market, particularly in sectors linked to consumption, infrastructure, equipment and investment-related goods.
