UKRAINE’S E-COMMERCE MARKET IS GROWING, WITH THE POPULATION SPENDING ₴256B OVER A YEAR.

According to a WayForPay report based on internal statistics and NBU indicators, last year Ukrainians made 196 million online purchases, totaling approximately ₴256B ($6B). Compared to 2024, the number of online transactions increased by 7-10%, and compared to 2021, Ukrainian e-commerce has grown by almost 80%. “One of the main drivers of the market remains the growth of mobile purchases. About 60% of all online purchases in Ukraine are made on smartphones. At the same time, wallet payments continue to grow actively – Apple Pay and Google Pay already form approximately 55-65% of all online payments,” experts note.According to the NBU, the share of non-cash card payments by transaction volume in Ukraine reached 65.4%, and by transaction amount, 95.5%. Payment for goods and services on the internet currently accounts for 13.9% of all card transactions in the country. The bulk of online orders falls to Ukrainian online stores and marketplaces such as Rozetka, Prom, Epicentr, Allo, Makeup, and Kasta. Up to 155 million transactions, worth between ₴160-175B, were recorded in the Ukrainian retail segment.
