INDONESIA AND BELARUS SOLIDIFY MASSIVE RP7 TRILLION ECONOMIC ALLIANCE IN MINSK
During the 8th Joint Committee Meeting in Minsk on May 15, 2026, Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto and Belarusian officials finalized an economic roadmap spanning agriculture, manufacturing, and food security. The strategic diplomacy yielded five landmark B2B agreements valued at over Rp7 trillion, featuring joint ventures with state-backed firms like PT Pupuk Indonesia. To anchor long-term bilateral growth, both nations explored introducing direct commercial flights, easing reciprocal visa policies, and establishing an Indonesian embassy in Minsk. On international trade, Belarus confirmed its full parliamentary ratification of the Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA), while Indonesia aims to complete its parallel ratification by the second half of 2026. Furthermore, future initiatives will prioritize human capital development via specialized STEM scholarship programs in Belarus, building upon a trade relationship that expanded by 72.6% year-on-year to hit 221 million USD.Source: https://www.cnbcindonesia.com/news/20260516105908-4-735177/presiden-belarus-mau-ke-indonesia-kerja-sama-proyek-rp7-t-tercipta (ICE GIACARTA)
