Kazakh government allocates 5.8 bln tenge to modernize Arkalyk heating, power infrastructureThe government of Kazakhstan has allocated 5.8 billion tenge from its reserve fund to modernize heating and electricity infrastructure in the city of Arkalyk in the Kostanay region, the government's press service said on Tuesday.Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov signed the corresponding resolution.The funding includes 3 billion tenge for reconstruction of the city's electricity supply system and 2.8 billion tenge to complete modernization of an 8.3-kilometer heating line.The upgrade of the electricity supply system includes modernization of three substations, construction and upgrade of 110-kV, 35-kV and 10-kV transmission lines, and replacement of wooden poles with reinforced concrete poles along a 37.8-kilometer section, the press service said.The project is expected to ensure stable electricity supply for 58,000 residents of Arkalyk and the Zhangeldi and Amangeldi districts in the Kostanay region.In 2025, 914 million tenge was allocated for repairs to Arkalyk's heating networks, including 645.5 million tenge from the government reserve fund and the remainder from the regional budget. Those funds were used to replace 1.6 kilometers of pipelines.Completion of the remaining section of the heating main is expected to reduce wear on the heating network by 25% and improve the reliability of the city's heating system, the statement said.
