BANIYAS PORT EXPANDS SHIP REPAIR OPERATIONS AS DEMAND GROWS

Seven vessels are currently under maintenance and conversion work at Baniyas Port , reflecting growing demand for the facility’s technical services and confidence in local engineering expertise. According to the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports, current operations include converting cargo vessels into livestock carriers, alongside structural repairs, engine maintenance and upgrades to technical equipment.  Officials said repair timelines range from 10 days to several months depending on the scale of work, while new vessels continue arriving to benefit from the port’s competitive services.  The maintenance operations coincide with broader infrastructure upgrades at the port, including administrative facilities, monitoring systems and dockside service points such as water, electricity supply and mooring stations.  Authorities said efforts are also focused on expanding port capacity and attracting skilled labor to support future growth.
