Chairmanship of CIS Industrial Policy Council passes from Tajikistan to KazakhstanA Tajik delegation took part in the 12th meeting of the Industrial Policy Council of CIS member states, held in Astana, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said.The Tajik delegation was led by First Deputy Minister of Industry and New Technologies Isodjon Kurbonzoda, who delivered remarks summing up Tajikistan's chairmanship of the council. The chairmanship passed to Kazakhstan for the next term.Participants discussed cooperation in various industrial sectors and approved a draft action plan for implementing the Agreement on Cooperation Among CIS States in Developing Heavy Machinery Manufacturing Dated June 5, 2025.At Tajikistan's initiative, a draft agreement on cooperation in the food industry was added to the agenda. The document provides for collaboration in developing and introducing equipment for food and processing industries, creating a network of research and education centers, developing applied research and technology transfer, and exchanging experience in implementing digital solutions and production process robotics.Council members also adopted decisions on implementing the Agreement on Cooperation Among CIS States in Developing Civilian Shipbuilding and Ship Component Manufacturing Dated December 12, 2024, and reviewed a draft concept for cooperation in developing the electronics industry along with an action plan for its implementation.The next council meeting is scheduled for 2027 in Uzbekistan.
