FSCC LAUNCHES FRANCHISES COMMITTEE TO BOOST LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL BRAND PRESENCE
The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce (FSCC) has defined the tasks of its newly formed “Franchises Committee,” in a move aimed at strengthening franchise culture and expanding the presence of Syrian brands locally, regionally, and internationally, supporting the investment environment and entrepreneurship. The federation, via its Telegram channel on Friday, said the committee will be responsible for spreading franchise culture and raising awareness of its importance as a tool for commercial and investment expansion. It will also support the growth of Syrian brands through franchise models, enhancing their spread in local and foreign markets. The federation noted that the committee is working to attract Arab and foreign brands and encourage their entry into the Syrian market within the approved legal frameworks, as part of efforts to support economic activity and improve the business environment. Among the committee’s tasks, the federation said, is to propose legislation and policies related to franchising and submit recommendations to the competent authorities, contributing to the development of the sector and the regulation of its operating mechanisms. The committee is also seeking to build a database of investment opportunities and franchise eligible brands, aiming to facilitate connections between project owners, investors, and relevant entities. It provides initial support and advisory services to business owners and investors interested in granting or obtaining commercial franchises, helping expand projects and benefit from successful business models. The federation emphasized that the committee pays special attention to supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium sized enterprises, encouraging them to use successful franchise models, thereby enhancing growth and expansion opportunities and creating new projects in the Syrian market. Earlier, on April 19, Federation Chairman Alaa al-Ali issued a decision to form specialized committees within the federation and appoint their chairs, based on what was approved by the federation’s Board of Directors in its meeting held on April 13, 2026.
