INDONESIA PREPARES INDUSTRY FOR EU GREEN REGULATIONS THROUGH ISO 59000 STANDARDS
Indonesia is strengthening the readiness of its national industry to face global green regulations—especially from the European Union—by adopting the ISO 59000 Series circular economy standards. Through a webinar organized by the National Standardization Agency (BSN), experts highlighted that these standards can help companies comply with new EU rules on sustainability, which may affect export market access. The standards also provide guidance for developing circular business models, measuring circular performance, and ensuring traceability in production. The Indonesian government, through BSN, is committed to advancing this transition by forming technical committees and launching capacity-building programs like Standard for Sustainability (S4S). These efforts aim to ensure Indonesia plays an active role in shaping circular economy transformation. Implementing ISO 59000 is expected to help businesses meet international market demands for sustainability and supply chain transparency while supporting a shift from a linear to a more sustainable circular economy.Source: https://rri.co.id/en/business/2484592/indonesia-prepares-industry-for-eu-green-regulations-through-iso-59000-standards (ICE GIACARTA)
