Canadian-backed company CanBalt Ventures plans to develop a defence industry and logistics park in central Lithuania, with total investment expected to reach around €500 million. The project is planned on a 180-hectare site in the village of Tabala, near Jonava.According to local authorities, the park would combine industrial plants, laboratories and research facilities within the existing Jonava–Rukla defence ecosystem, close to the Lithuanian Armed Forces base in Rukla. Procedures to rezone the land for industrial and warehousing use are currently under way.The initiative confirms Lithuania’s growing focus on defence-related industrial infrastructure, including logistics, research facilities and high value-added production capacity.
