WORLD BANK: ELECTRICITY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM GENERATES ADDITIONAL SAVINGS OF JD 15
Jordan’s Electricity Sector Efficiency and Supply Reliability Program, financed through a $500 million loan from the World Bank, has generated additional savings and revenues for the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) totaling JD 159.92 million by the end of April 2026. The figure surpasses the program’s end-of-project target of JD95 million, which was originally set for the end of 2027, according to a World Bank report reviewed by Al-Mamlaka TV. According to the World Bank’s Implementation Status and Results Report, the program is financed through two loans of $250 million each. The first loan was approved in March 2023, while the second, which provided additional financing, was approved in April 2025. (ICE AMMAN)
