Eurasian Development Bank plans $13.5 bln in investments for member-state projects in 2027-2031The Eurasian Development Bank plans to channel $13.5 billion into projects in its member states under its new 2027-2031 strategy, roughly 20% above its previous strategic period target, EDB Chairman Nikolay Podguzov said."During the 2022-2026 strategic period, we committed to investing $10.9 billion in projects across member states. We are already ahead of that figure — the $10.9 billion mark has been surpassed. I expect we will reach $12 billion by year-end," Podguzov told reporters on the sidelines of the EDB's annual meeting in Almaty."For the next period, 2027-2031, we have planned $13.5 billion in investments, up to 20% higher than the previous strategy's parameters," he said.Investment allocation among member states will be set in country strategies expected to be adopted in October-November 2026, Podguzov added. He identified Eurasia's transport and logistics infrastructure, food security and food logistics development, and high-value-added industrial projects as the bank's investment priorities for 2027-2031.The EDB is a development bank operating across the Eurasian region. As of late December 2025, its cumulative portfolio included 326 projects totaling $19.6 billion in investments, with the bulk focused on transport infrastructure, digital systems, green energy, agriculture, industry and mechanical engineering.Under its 2022-2026 strategy, the EDB is implementing three megaprojects: the Central Asia Water and Energy Complex, the Eurasian Transport Framework and the Eurasian Commodity Distribution Network.
