UKRAINE’S CHOCOLATE AND COCOA IMPORTS CONTINUE TO EXPAND IN EARLY 2026
Ukraine’s imports of chocolate and cocoa products continued to grow in the first five months of 2026, reflecting resilient consumer demand and a steady recovery in the confectionery sector. Between January and May 2026, total imports reached €79.45 million, marking a 7.73% increase compared to the same period of 2025.Poland further strengthened its position as Ukraine’s leading supplier, exporting €32.10 million worth of chocolate and cocoa products and accounting for 40.41% of total imports. Germany ranked second with €9.06 million (11.4% market share), followed by the Netherlands with €6.94 million (8.74%). Belgium supplied €4.96 million, corresponding to a 6.24% market share.Against this generally positive import trend, imports from Italy showed slight but positive growth rather than decline. In January–May 2026, Ukraine imported €4.98 million worth of Italian chocolate and cocoa products, representing a +1.33% increase year-on-year. Italy maintained a solid position among Ukraine’s top suppliers, holding a 6.26% share of total imports.Overall, the Ukrainian chocolate and cocoa import market in early 2026 shows robust growth and increasing diversification, with Poland consolidating its leadership while several mid-sized European suppliers adjust their market positions.
