UAE OIL EXPORTS SURGE TO HIGHEST LEVELS SINCE 2017 FOLLOWING OPEC EXIT

The United Arab Emirates saw its oil exports skyrocket by 30% in June 2026, reaching 3.9 million barrels per day—the highest output level recorded by the country since 2017. Following its strategic decision to exit OPEC and shed the group's strict production quotas, the UAE has gained unprecedented autonomy over its energy sector, allowing it to swiftly capitalize on market demand. Even amidst regional conflict, the nation successfully restored its exports to near-prewar levels by utilizing its 42-million-barrel underground Mandous complex and the Habshan-to-Fujairah pipeline to bypass the volatile Strait of Hormuz. Looking forward, the UAE plans to completely eliminate its reliance on the shipping chokepoint by heavily expanding its east coast ports and infrastructure at Dibba, Fujairah, and Khor Fakkan, further securing its independence as a global energy powerhouse.
