Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman has proposed exporting a minimum of 10,000 tons of premium rice to Singapore. The proposal was discussed during a bilateral meeting with Singaporean Minister Grace Fu to strengthen regional food cooperation. Driven by high domestic production, Indonesia’s rice reserves have reached 5.1 million tons, exceeding Bulog's three million ton storage capacity and forcing the government to rent extra warehouses. The cooperation framework aims to partner Indonesian state-owned enterprises with Singaporean private entities. Beyond rice, Indonesia plans to export chicken, eggs, palm oil, and coconuts. Minister Fu praised Indonesia's tech-driven productivity, noting it offers an excellent opportunity to expand Singapore’s food supply lines.
