ITALIAN FIRMS EYE BANGLADESH AIRPORT BIRD MANAGEMENT, AVIATION TRAINING PROJECTS
Bangladesh and Italy have discussed expanding cooperation in the aviation sector. During a meeting on June 22, Italian Ambassador Antonio Alessandro informed Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam that Italian companies are interested in supporting Bangladesh through airport bird hazard management and aviation training initiatives. Italian firm The Edge proposed developing a Bird Control Management System (BCMS) to improve airport safety, while Flyon Aero expressed interest in establishing a training academy for aviation technicians. The minister welcomed the proposals and highlighted opportunities for foreign investment in airport infrastructure under PPP arrangements. Both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. (ICE NEW DELHI)
