INDONESIAN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE MAKERS EXPAND VIA INNOVATION AND EXPORTS
Indonesian alcoholic beverage producers are expanding their businesses through new product launches and export growth to improve competitiveness and create new revenue opportunities. PT Kharisma Serasi Jaya recently introduced Emerald Glens, described as Indonesia’s first locally produced whisky developed in collaboration with Ireland’s oldest whisky industry. The company said the product combines Irish whisky-making expertise with domestic production and aims to demonstrate that Indonesian premium products can compete globally while maintaining a distinct local identity. Distribution will initially focus on the domestic market before expanding internationally. Meanwhile, PT Lovina Beach Brewery Tbk (STRK) is increasing its focus on exports, targeting overseas sales to account for 60% of total revenue by 2026, with the remaining 40% coming from the domestic market. The strategy reflects challenges in Indonesia’s market, including weaker purchasing power and slower consumption growth. After exporting its first batch of Libarron whisky to Singapore in March 2026, valued at around Rp5 billion, STRK is now targeting Hong Kong, Japan, and China, focusing on premium hotels and bars. The company also plans to export other products, including Clarissa coconut liqueur, Libarron Limited Van Gogh Edition, and Coco Bali ready-to-drink beverages.Source: https://industri.kontan.co.id/news/produsen-minuman-beralkohol-memperluas-pasar-lewat-produk-baru-dan-ekspor (ICE GIACARTA)
