UKRAINE: CONTINUED GROWTH AND DIVERSIFICATION IN BAKERY AND BISCUIT IMPORTS IN EARLY 2026
In January–May 2026, Ukraine imported €63.35 million worth of bakery, pastry, and biscuit products, reflecting a strong 12.65% increase compared to the same period in 2025.Poland maintained its lead as the top supplier, exporting €21.14 million and securing a 33.38% market share, with growth of 10.97%. The Netherlands remained in second place, delivering €5.46 million and recording a 22.61% increase, bringing its market share to 8.62%. Romania continued to post strong gains, expanding exports by 56.44% to €5.08 million (8.01% market share).Bulgaria also showed notable momentum, increasing shipments by 50.77% to €5.29 million (8.35% market share). Italy accelerated its growth, with exports rising 12.95% to €4.66 million, accounting for 7.36% of Ukraine’s market.While Germany remained among the leading exporters, imports from Germany declined by 8.59% to €5.45 million, corresponding to an 8.6% market share.Overall, Ukraine’s bakery and biscuit import market in early 2026 shows strong expansion and increasing diversification, with regional European suppliers continuing to strengthen their positions amid growing demand.
