ITALIAN TEXTILE FIRMS EXPLORE STRONGER BANGLADESH PARTNERSHIP
An 11-member Italian business delegation has arrived in Bangladesh to promote cooperation in textile technology, strengthen trade ties, and explore business opportunities in the country's expanding textile and apparel sector. The delegation includes representatives from 11 small and medium-sized Italian companies specializing in textile innovation, along with Italian Regional Trade Commissioner Antonietta Baccanari and officials from the Italian Trade Agency and ACIMIT. Their program features presentations, B2B meetings, and factory visits in Dhaka and Chattogram, organized in collaboration with local industry associations. Italian Ambassador Alessandro highlighted Italy's contribution to Bangladesh's textile industry and its commitment to providing advanced technologies for sustainability and efficiency. Trade Commissioner Baccanari noted that Italy exported approximately 71 million euros worth of textile machinery to Bangladesh in 2025, underscoring Italy's standing in precision engineering and industrial design. ACIMIT represents over 300 Italian manufacturers exporting about 1.7 billion euros in textile machinery annually. The participating companies include Color Services, Corino Macchine, Danti Paolo, Durst, L.A.I.P., Lawer, Pinter Caipo, Reggiani Macchine, SalvadS, Tecnorama, and Ugolini.
