Kazakhstan breaks ground on waste-to-energy plant in Zhambyl regionConstruction has begun on a waste-to-energy plant in the Zhambyl region, the regional governor's press service said.The plant is being built by ForYou Energy LLP at a total cost of 80 billion tenge. The project will be implemented in two phases, with the first phase scheduled to come online in the first quarter of 2027 and the second in the third quarter of 2029.The facility will use advanced South Korean technology to process up to 900 tonnes of solid waste per day and generate up to 20 MW of electricity.The project will generate 400 construction jobs and 200 permanent positions once the plant is up and running.
