Last week, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and Network School signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation in AI, innovation, tech entrepreneurship and human capital development."The meeting presented a concept for a Network City tech hub in Burabay, developed with local authorities and the community. The project would use modular infrastructure designed to blend with the natural landscape and existing development," the statement said.The site could become a hub for IT specialists, entrepreneurs and researchers, combining opportunities for work, learning and professional networking.Srinivasan praised Kazakhstan's AI potential and noted the broad prospects for cooperation with global pools of capital and talent. The Network School projects are funded by private sources, without government financing, he stressed."Our new campus will become a haven for global techno-optimism, with expedited visas, streamlined redomiciliation, and active recruitment of talent," Srinivasan wrote on social media platform X.The meeting also covered prospects for cooperation in AI, training skilled professionals, developing tech entrepreneurship and supporting startups through an international innovation hub in the Akmola region with future expansion into Alatau City.Other initiatives discussed included participation in an AI Film Festival with a prize fund from Srinivasan, and a Network State Conference as part of the AI & Digital Bridge international forum with global tech giants.Network School is an international community bringing together entrepreneurs, developers, engineers and researchers for collaborative learning and work on tech projects. Its platform combines educational programs, co-working spaces, conferences, hackathons and acceleration events. Since 2024, a Network School campus for "digital nomads" has operated in Malaysia's Johor state. In mid-July, the community drew attention from Malaysian authorities following reports of alleged undocumented migrants living on the campus.Balaji Srinivasan is an American entrepreneur, scientist, investor, author of "The Network State" and former chief technology officer of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.Burabay is a resort village in the Akmola region, located about 250 kilometers from the capital, Astana.
