REPORT: JORDAN'S GRAIN PRODUCTION RISES MORE THAN 50% IN 2026

Jordan is has recorded a bumper grain harvest in 2026, with production increasing by more than 50% compared with the five-year average, according to a report by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The report, issued under the Global Information and Early Warning System (GIEWS) on Food and Agriculture and reviewed by Al-Mamlaka TV, attributes the strong harvest to favorable weather conditions throughout the growing season. According to the report, Jordan's total grain production in 2026 is estimated at around 150,000 metric tons, representing an increase of more than 50% compared with the average annual output over the past five years. The report added that the winter wheat and barley harvest began in May and is expected to be completed by early August. (ICE AMMAN)
