INDONESIA AND EU DISCUSS READINESS FOR 2026 HALAL MANDATE
Indonesia’s Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) and the European Union recently met in Jakarta, Thursday (June 30, 2026) to discuss Indonesia’s mandatory halal certification policy, which will take effect in October 2026. The discussions aimed to strengthen communication, provide regulatory clarity, and ensure that international stakeholders, including European businesses, fully understand the requirements and implementation process ahead of the rollout. BPJPH emphasized its commitment to maintaining close engagement and providing comprehensive explanations to prevent misunderstandings. The EU delegation, comprising representatives from several member states and trade institutions, sought updates on Indonesia’s halal regulations to help businesses prepare for compliance. Both sides highlighted the importance of clear and reliable information to support smooth trade relations.
