The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved a $250 million financing package to support the National Water Carrier project for desalinating and conveying water from Aqaba to Amman. This step enhances the finalization of funding arrangements for one of Jordan’s largest strategic water projects. Data from the bank, reviewed by Al-Mamlaka, showed that the financing aims to assist the project in improving access to safe drinking water for residents of the capital and various governorates.
