INDONESIA: KALIMANTAN PROVINCE DRAWS US$3.8B IN INVESTMENT INTEREST

At the Pamor Borneo 2026 Investment Forum, Bank Indonesia (BI) connected 15 strategic projects across Kalimantan with 20 domestic and international investors, generating investment interest worth Rp62.13 trillion (US$3.8 billion). The event resulted in 12 Letters of Intent (LoIs), marking the first step toward investment negotiations and project development. Key projects presented included the Kusan Hydroelectric Power Plant in South Kalimantan, Margasari Baru Port development, the oleochemical industry project in East Kalimantan’s Maloy Batuta Trans Kalimantan Special Economic Zone, and the Sepaku Semoi Drinking Water Supply System in Balikpapan. BI South Kalimantan Head Haris Munandar said the forum aimed to connect project owners with investors while addressing obstacles that could hinder implementation. Additional investment opportunities included a waste-to-energy project in Central Kalimantan and a vannamei shrimp farming project in Sukamara. BI expects the signed LoIs to advance into concrete investments that create jobs, strengthen downstream industries, increase value-added production, and support Kalimantan’s transformation into a diversified, sustainable economic hub and one of Indonesia’s key growth centers.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/7105/business-and-investment/kalimantan-draws-us-3-8b-in-investment-interest (ICE GIACARTA)
