MEDSHIFTGREEN 1ST FOCUS GROUP ON NBS INTEGRATION
The specialized series of the MEDSHIFTGREEN project’s focus groups were initiated at the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) incollaboration with the various departments involved. The meeting was organized under the title “Course Design: Integrating Nature-based Solutions (NBS) and Social Innovation in Education” dedicated to combining NBS principles into higher education courses across the Med region. The interactive sessions brought together diverse participants such as TVET teachers, practitioners, and researchspecialists, to develop the designated content and methodology. Accordingly, the courses will be designed to equip students with thenecessary skills, knowledge, and competencies to address real-world environmental and social challenges. The ultimate goal of this part of the project is to cultivate a new generation of sustainable development leaders through empowering the participants with practical green economy skills, fostering social innovation, and providing immersive learning experiences. MEDSHIFTGREEN is an Interreg NEXT MED-funded project which addresses the pressing transational challenges of environmental degradation and resource depletion in the Mediterranean by fostering a generation of youth who are well-equipped to tackle and mitigate ecological issues across borders.
