REMITTANCES FROM JORDANIAN EXPATRIATES REACHED $2.5 BILLION IN THE FIRST HALF OF
Preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Jordan showed a 13.3% increase in total remittances from Jordanians working abroad to the Kingdom during June, compared to the same month in 2025, reaching approximately $434 million.According to the data, total remittances received during the first half of this year amounted to $2.5 billion, marking a 14.3% increase compared to the same period last year.Remittances from the United Arab Emirates accounted for the largest share during the first half of the year, at 21.2% of total remittances, followed by the United States at 19.6%, then Saudi Arabia at 17.7%, Qatar at 10.3%, and Kuwait at 5.5%. Remittances from the remaining countries constituted approximately 25.7% of the total.In contrast, remittances from workers leaving the Kingdom increased last June by 17.7 percent compared to the same month of 2025, reaching about $162.6 million. The total remittances sent during the first half of this year also increased to $969.3 million, an increase of 15.5 percent compared to the same period last year. (ICE AMMAN)
